Why is the Dish Washing Gel Not Made from 100% Natural Ingredients?
The gel currently contains a chelating agent that helps soften the water and remove other unwanted compounds. 85% of this substance is of natural origin and it is chemically modified to be as effective as possible. As a result, in addition to the Ca2+ and Mg2+ ions (the main compounds causing water hardness), it is also able to remove the Cu2+, Fe2+, Fe3+, Mn2+, and Zn2+ ions. These ions degrade the appearance, taste, smell, and colour of water (iron turns the water a rusty colour, manganese turns it brown or even black). The chelating agent is completely degradable and replaces a less effective EDDS agent.

What is the recommended water temperature?
If you use enzyme-free dishwasher detergents – such as those made by TIERRA VERDE – set the temperature to at least 40 °C. The same principle applies to dishwashers and washing machines: we consider the environmental impact of raising the temperature to be significantly more acceptable than the impact of using synthetic and toxic agents. The financial costs of raising the temperature have been examined using a washing machine, where a 10 °C increase in temperature increases the costs by 30 cents per wash.
What is the white coating on dishes caused by and how to get rid of it?
The coating is caused by settled minerals precipitated from the water. It is suitable to use the Dishwasher Rinse Aid, regularly refill the Regenerating Dishwasher Salt and clean the filter and the entire dishwasher. If a white film remains on your dishes even after they’re been washed, that means the water is too hard and a residue of calcium and magnesium is settling on the dishes and the inside of your dishwasher. In this case, it is necessary that you correctly adjust the water hardness to match the needs of your appliance.
To determine water hardness and the subsequent precise adjustment needed for your dishwasher (according to the water hardness table in your dishwasher’s instructions), you can use our Water Hardness Testing Strip, or your local water company or provider may assist you.
How to clean the dishwasher?
For optimal results of eco-friendly dishwasher use, the appliance must be cleaned regularly. Decrease the frequency of cleaning depending on how often you use the dishwasher, how hard is your water and how dirty are the dishes you wash in the dishwasher. Clean the dishwasher accordingly – it can be once a month or once a week. Be sure to clean the dishwasher filter. Remove it from the appliance, wipe with a dry cloth (or rinse in a hot water bath with dissolved Puer – Oxygen-Based Whitening Powder and Stain Remover). The quality of dish-washing also depends on how clean the dishwasher arms are. Remove them from time to time and rinse them under pressured water. In the bathroom, unscrew the shower head and let strong water pressure clean the arms in the shower (you will be amazed at how dirty the arms are, preventing water flow and compromising the quality of the dish-washing). To clean the dishwasher completely, use Puer – Oxygen-Based Whitening Powder and Stain Remover and Limescale Cleaner. Pour a tablespoon of the individual products on the bottom of an empty dishwasher, switch it on to the maximum temperature and turn on the washing cycle.
How should I proceed when switching from conventional dishwasher detergents to eco-friendly products?
